WELCOME

St Aubyns Guest House is run with loving care by us your resident owners Steve Jefferies & Mark Howes. We are ideally situated just a few minutes from the Seafront, town centre, major shops, restaurants and pubs

This mature house was built at the turn of the century and converted to a guest house in 2003. The house still retains many attractive period features. We do our best to maintain the highest standards throughout.

So why not join us for a really fabulous holiday or weekend break in the beautiful seaside town of Burnham on Sea, amidst the lovely surroundings of the Somerset countryside.

For safety reasons, and the comfort of other guests, smoking is not allowed in the guest house, however smoking is permitted at the front of the house and in the rear garden.

TARIFF, TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Prices vary according to season. Please ring Mark or Steve for information.

  • Room rates are from £40 for a single en-suite room, and from £55 for a double en-suite room.
    Rates include a delicious full English breakfast or vegetarian selection.
  • Bookings subject to payment of deposit equall to the first nights stay.
    Seven days notice required for cancellation or deposit is non refundable.
  • All rooms are available from 1pm on the day of arrival.

  • Guests are asked to vacate rooms by 10am on the day of departure.

  • Children are welcome, but we are sorry that we do not have cot facilities.

  • Cancellations: In the event of a cancellation of less than 7 days notice (prior to arrival date) we will charge the full amount of the booking fee.

    If you are concerned that you may have to cancel a booking at short notice, it is advisable to take out travel/cancellation insurance

    If you decide to check out early this is in breach of the contract enetered into at the time of the booking, and therefore full payment will be charged.

  • No Shows: A no show will result in a full charge being made for the entire period of stay.

We are located at the junction of Berrow Road and Sea View Road.

Notice to Sat Nav Users: It is not advisable to locate us by our postcode alone, as this will often result in you being directed to Myrtle Drive instead of Berrow Road/Sea View Road.

For those of you who prefer written instructions:

  1. Exit the M5 at junction 22.

  2. At the first roundabout take the 2nd exit.

  3. At the second roundabout take the 2nd exit.

  4. At the third roundabout take the 2nd exit, and follow the road for about half a mile.

  5. We are the third house after the public swimming baths. Look out for the monument (see images below) which is located at the junction of Berrow Road and Sea View Road.

ACCESS STATEMENT FOR

ST AUBYNS GUESTHOUSE

Introduction

St Aubyns Guesthouse is a 7 bedroom detached house situated just of the sea front and very close to the town centre of Burnham on sea. All bedrooms are on the first and second floors and would not be suitable for persons confined to a wheelchair or those that cannot climb stairs.

Pre Arrival

We are located on the corner of Berrow road and Sea view road.
There is a bus stop 150 metres from the main entrance along a level path.

The main train station: Highbridge & Burnham is 10 minutes by car.

There are several local taxi companies you can use, please ring us for their numbers.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so that we can be sure we are here to welcome you.

Assistance with luggage is offered to all guests.

There is ample free off road car parking to the front, back and side of the house.

The main entrance is accessed from the gravelled car park.

Main Entrance & Reception

There is one main entrance into the house (front door), which leads into the entrance porch, this has a tiled floor. Here you will find a selection of local maps, information, and places to visit.

A further side hung door and one step of 15cm in height, leads into the entrance hall.

The entrance hall is well lit and has wooden flooring with two rugs in the middle.

Our tariff pricing sign along with award certificates is located in the entrance hall.

A side hung door situated at the end of the entrance hall leads into the breakfast room.

A side hung door next to the stairs leads to a down stairs W/C.

The door next to the W/C (also side hung) leads you pass the office (which is private) and though the patio doors in to the indoor heated swimming pool.


INDOOR HEATED SWIMMING POOL

The swimming pool is open from Easter until the 31st October and is for guests only.

The is pool is 7m long x 3.4 m wide,
And ranges in depth from 1m to 2m.


BREAKFAST ROOM

The breakfast room has plenty of natural light, and has a wooden floor.

There are seven square tables seating two persons each, and five oblong tables seating for up to four persons each. All tables are moveable and are 75cm in height, all chairs are wooden with soft seats and backs and are without arms.

We provide a full table waiting service for disabled guest.


BEDROOMS ( 1 - 4 )

The first flight of stairs has 19 steps each measuring 15cm in height, and has a handrail on one side.

The stairs are carpeted and lead to the first floor where you will find bedrooms 1- 4.

Bedroom 1 is a double room with a 4’6” double bed, which is 58cm in height.

Access to the bed is via both sides, the room is well lit by a ceiling light and bedside lights to each side of the bed.

Bedroom 2 is a family room with a 5’0 king size bed which is 58cm in height.

Access to the bed is via both sides, the room is well lit by ceiling light and bedside lights to both sides of the bed, there is a 3’0 single bed which is 58cm in height with access via one side and bulk beds which also so access by one side.

Bedroom 3 is a family/twin/or double room with a 4’6 double bed, which is 58cm in height; Access to the bed is via both sides. There is a 3’0 single bed 58cm in height with access to one side the room is well lit by ceiling light and bedside light to all beds.

Bedroom 4 is a four poster room with a 5’0 four-poster bed which is 58cm in height.

Access to the bed is via both sides; the room is well lit with ceiling lights and bedside lights to both sides


BEDROOMS ( 5 – 7 )

There are 15 stairs from the first floor each being 15cm in height to the second floor, there is a handrail to one side of these stairs.

The stairs are carpeted, and here you will find bedrooms 5-7
Please note that bedrooms on this floor all have sloping ceilings and some have wooden beams

Bedroom 5 is a family/twin/or double room with a 5’0 king size bed, which is 58cm in height; Access to the bed is via both sides. There is a 3’0 single bed 58cm in height with access to both sides the room is well lit by ceiling light and bedside light to all beds.

Bedroom 6 is a family/twin/or double room with a 5’0 king size bed, which is 58cm in height, Access to the bed is via both sides. There is a 3’0 single bed 58cm in height with access to one side; the room is well lit by ceiling light and bedside light to all beds.

Bedroom 7 is a double room with a 4’6” double bed, which is 58cm in height.

Access to the bed is via both sides, the room is well lit by a ceiling light and bedside lights to each side of the bed.

All bedrooms have side hung lockable doors and are all carpeted throughout.

All bedrooms have flat screen remote control televisions with freeview

All bedrooms have tea and coffee facilities.

All bedrooms have hair dryer, cloths brush, shoe shine, and radio alarm clocks

All bedrooms are en suite consisting of a power shower, wc, and wash basin, shaving socket.


GARDENS

We have a private garden for guest to use .

Guest are welcome to use the garden at all times

Access to the garden is via a door from the breakfast room or via the patio doors in the swimming pool.

There is sun loungers, tables and chairs for the guest to use.


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We have a full fire alarm and emergency lighting system, which is tested and recorded in the fire log, and we have all the fire extinguishers, fire blankets that is required.

You are welcome to check out are fire risk assessment.
We are happy to cater for special diets or any particular likes or dislikes. Please advise us of these before your arrival.
